Under the NHS, dressings supplied at the surgery that are used to treat wounds, do incur a prescription charge unless you have any exemption as displayed on the back of a regular prescription Part 1.
Depending on how many visits you need to attend and the variety of dressings used, there may be more than one prescription charge. You will be informed of an estimated cost during the consultations. Towards the end of your treatment, if not exempt, you will be asked to pay for the prescription for the dressings.
In some circumstances we may suggest a pre-payment card, which is a one off payment to cover all prescription charges over a 3 month period.
